Educational Speech Therapy is one of the areas of specialization recognized by the Federal Council of Speech Therapy (Resolution 382/2010). inserted in the educational context, the speech therapist assumes the role of educator and becomes co-responsible, along with the other professionals who must make up the multidisciplinary educational team, for the success in the teaching-learning process, promoting the full development of the communicative, cognitive, affective-emotional and social potential of the students (SBFa)
Briefly, educational speech therapy contributes for the promotion, improvement and prevention of changes in aspects related to hearing, language (oral and written), oral motor skills and voice, which favor and optimize the teaching and learning process.
